Emmanuelle Béart
French actress and model Emmanuelle Béart was born on 14 August 1963 in St. Tropez, Var, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France.
In her teens, her parents sent her to Montréal, Québec, Canada for four years for her to learn English. She worked as a nanny. After she returned to France, she started to work as an actress. She is memorable for her performance in "Manon des Sources" (1987). Her role in it won her a Cesar award as best supporting actress. Emmanuelle's bigger success came when she played as a nude model in the art film " La Belle noiseuse" (1991). She is also internationally well-known for her role as Claire Phelps against co-star Tom Cruise, in her second Hollywood picture, "Mission: Impossible"(1996). She sings in the movie 8 Femmes.
Her other noticeable singings including "L'histoire d'un Amour" from film "le héros de la famille" 2006; "Où sont tous mes amants" in Patrick Bruel's album "Entre deux", 2002; "Message personnel" with Pascal Obispo, Laurent Voulzy and Elsa for "Les enfoirés au Zénith", 1997; and "Fais-moi une Place" with Marc Lavoine for "Les enfoirés au Zénith", 1997.
Emmanuelle is also an activist for "sans-papiers" (illegal immigrants) in France. She is an ambassador of UNICEF in France as well. Furthermore, she is a member of the jury of Canne Movie Festival.
